1.Pokémon: I Choose You! Ash Ketchum is a 10 year old boy from pallet town. He vows to become the world's greatest pokémon master, but is off to a late start, after sleeping in on the day he was to receive his first pokémon. With all the beginner pokémon gone, he has to take Pikachu, an electric mouse. As they start off on their journey, Pikachu is quite unhappy with his owner, but things get worse when they get attacked by a butt load of Spearows. Ash tries to protect Pikachu. Pikachu then realizes how much Ash really cares for him. Finally, Pikachu drives away all the Spearows with a powerful attack, but is left weak.
2. Pokémon Emergency! With Pikachu weak from its victory over the Spearows, Ash rushes to the Viridian City Pokémon Center where he meets Officer Jenny and Nurse Joy. While Pikachu is recovering, Misty confronts him about her bike that Ash took in the last episode. Nurse Joy informs them that Pikachu will be okay. Just then, Team Rocket shows up to steal any special pokémon at the center. With the help of Ash, Pikachu is able to stop them and our heroes head off into the Viridian Forest. 3. Ash Catches a Pokémon In Viridian Forest, Ash manages to capture a Caterpie all by himself. Misty, is more than disgusted, much to Caterpie's dismay. However, Team Rocket attempts to capture Pikachu. As they are about to succeed, Caterpie saves the day, after after the battle it evolves into a Metapod. 4. Challenge of the Samurai As they continue through the Viridian Forest, Ash, Misty and Pikachu meet Samurai, a trainer who challenges Ash. As they duel, a swarm of Beedrils interrupts them and captures Ash's Metapod (thinking its a Kakuna). Ash attempts to rescue Metapod, but it evolves into Butterfree and defeats the Beedril swarm. After all that the gang heads off towards Pewter City. 5. Showdown in Pewter City Ash, Misty, and Pikachu arrive in Pewter City to challenge Brock the Gym Leader for entrance into the Pokémon League. With help from a mysterious rock seller, Ash and Pikachu are able to defeat Brock (sorta). Brock then gives Ash the boulder badge and joins up with the group to pursue his dream of becoming the greatest pokemon breeder. 6. Clefairy and the Moon Stone Ash, Misty, Brock and Pikachu head over to Mount Moon where the fabled Moon Stone is said to reside. As they are about to enter, they rescue Seymour the Scientist from some Zoobats who tell them that someone is placing lights inside the caves of Mt. Moon which are making all the pokémon inside confused. The villains turn out to be none other than Team Rocket who is trying to find the moon stone. With the help of the Clefairys and the Metranome attack, the gang defeats Team Rocket and then heads off toward Cerulean City. 7 .The Water Flowers of Cerulean City As the gang is about to enter Cerulean City, Misty seems to have disappeared. Ash, however, only concentrates on getting his next badge from the local gym, which appears to have been converted into a water show. The three stars of the show turn out to be the gym leaders, who would rather just give Ash the badge than fight, since all their pokémon were badly beaten by trainers from Pallet. Misty shows up claiming to be the fourth gym leader and will battle Ash, but they are interrupted by Team Rocket who uses a huge vacuum to suck away pokémon. Pikachu stops them and the sisters give Ash a well-deserved Cascade Badge for his heroic deeds(Why does Ash get a badge when Pikachu did everything?). 8. The Path to the Pokémon League As our heroes continue on their journey, they meet A.J, a fierce pokémon trainer who pushes his pokémon to the point of exhaustion by brute force. , He has won 98 consecutive pokémon battles against other trainers ,but yet to own a badge. He easily beats Ash making 99 wins. Once he reaches 100, hell begin to go after badges. As Team Rocket tries to steal Pikachu again, they accidentally steal A.J.s Sandshrew. A.J. beats them with a ground splitting attack, making his 100th win, and giving team rocket a headache. A.J. then begins his own path to the Pokémon League. 9. The School of Hard Knocks Trying to find their way to Vermilion City, the gang discovers a special Pokémon school where you can enter the Pokémon League after graduation instead of winning badges. However, they see young Joe being pushed too hard by fellow students. As the students believe they are better trained than Ash and the gang, some pokémon battles erupt, which show that despite certain advantages one type of pokémon has over others, experience and levels are also a key to winning. They leave knowing they have imparted some wisdom on fellow trainers who they hope to meet in league someday. 10. Bulbasaur and the Hidden Village After stumbling through some traps, our heroes find a secret village where they meet Melanie, a person who helps injured and abandoned pokémon. A distrustful Bulbasaur acts as watch guard over the village and wants Ash to leave. Suddenly, Team Rocket shows up with another high-powered vacuum to suck away pokémon. Ash helps Bulbasaur defeat Team Rocket making Bulbasaur trust him. But it is only after Ash proves himself in a battle that Bulbasaur decides (sorta) to join Ashs group.
